LKBEN11579: Howto find system information from the console?


Symptom

You need information about a linux system about OS, Kernel, Windowing system, CPU, GPU, etc.

Cause

Might be handy when you do not have a GUI.

Solution

When you do not have a GUI, neofetch is what you are looking for. Neofetch is a bash script for text output and delivers information about the current system.

To install the tool, you can use the following on Ubuntu/Kubuntu systems:

sudo apt install neofetch
neofetch
