LKBEN11475: Add a directory or folder to your linux PATH
Symptom
You need to add some directory to your PATH variable on your ubuntu system
Cause
Sometimes needed to run own programs without have to go to the path on your filesystem
Solution
On Linux you edit your .bashrc file to change your PATH variable. This will only change your PATH for one user.
echo $PATH
cd
vim .bashrc
add one line at the end:
export PATH=$PATH:/home/your_home/your_directory
To reread the file:
source .bashrc
echo $PATH
This should show you your path with the added directory at the end.
