LKBEN11040: Howto install a package with dpkg when you have a deb package


Symptom

You need to install a package and have a deb file

Cause

none

Solution

Well, this is easy. I wonder who looks for this article but will create it anyway to make the knowledge base more complete.

You install a deb package with dpkg by entering the following command:

dpkg -i <packagename.deb>

That is it. :-)
