LKBEN10791: How to disable roaming profiles

Symptom

On a certain Workstation or Server / Terminalserver no roaming profiles are wanted

Cause

Some machines are used for specific reasons and funcitonality can be corupted by Usersettings in a server based Userprofile

Solution

To disable roaming (server based) profiles on a certain machine, define a Group Policy Object or a local Policy (gpedit.msc) with the following Policy activated:

Computerconfiguration --> Administrative Templates --> System --> Userprofiles --> Only allow local profiles

Make sure that this policy is applied correctly to this machine and take care of your local profiles. If a certain number of users is exceeded, you might want to apply another policy in the same folder:

"delete cached copies of roaming profiles"
