LKBEN10625: Howto use a command line with regedit and import a reg key into the registry

Symptom

You want to load a registry hive or key with a command line

Cause

This is by design

Solution

Under normal circumstances the import of the regkey will show you a popup messages. To deactivate this you can start regedit with /s (=silent). e.g.

regedit /s c:\temp\myregkey.reg

A regfile from NT 4 can be imported with regedit version 5 as long as the keypath is still the same!
