LKBEN11733: How to deactivate the context menu in Windows?


Symptom

You have to restrict a system and need to deactive the right click in the Windows menu.

Cause

This can be important for kiosk systems.

Solution

To deactivate the contex menu, you need to set a key in the registry. When the key is set in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, it is valid for all users. If set in HKEY_CURRENT_USER only this user will see the effect.

Valid for all users:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer

Value Name	DisableContextMenusInStart
Value Type	REG_DWORD
Enabled Value	1
