LKBEN11663: How to know if a mac/macos is DEP enabled or not?

Symptom

You need to know if a mac is DEP enabled. (DEP = device enrollment program)

Cause

This information is important if you need to manage macos devices in an UEM system.

Solution

On macos you can check the status with the following command:

sudo profiles show -type enrollment

A macintosh, not DEP enabled will show:

Error fetching Device Enrollment configuration: Client is not DEP enabled.

In case the device is DEP enabled and enrolled, you will get a page of information about the management system.

Have fun.
