LKBEN11656: How to restart IIS from the command line?


Symptom

You need to restart Internet Information Server.

Cause

Needed from time to time.

Solution

To restart the IIS you can use the command line or the management console.

Command Line:

open the command line (cmd.exe) and type in iisreset.

iisreset

Mangement Console:

Start -> run -> compmgmt.msc

or

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management

Go to Services and Applications -> Internet Information Service node -> All Tasks -> Restart IIS.
