LKBEN11534: After hitting Ctrl-S, my bash is not responding anymore

Instead of Ctrl-A, you hit the S key and everything seems to be stalled.

This is by design. Ctrl-S will pause flow control, also called XOFF and the terminal will not show your input anymore.

In case you have this problem, you need to restart flow control by Ctrl-Q and your terminal will respond again. The flow control was used in serial communication to pause transmitting and to start again. XOFF and XON have Ctrl-S and Ctrl-Q connected to them. XOFF means to pause transmission and XON resumes transmission.

Have fun.
