LKBEN11485: Printer driver list freezes on ubuntu 20.04

You want to change a driver for one of the installed printers and the printer driver dialog box takes forever

This is because you did not start as sudo

The following dialog box is used for additional printer settings:

When you try to change the driver for one of the printers by clicking on "Change"

This window will appear and will take forever.

The solution to  the problem is to open a shell and enter the following command:

sudo system-config-printer --debug

You do not need the debug at the end but it doesn't harm.

This will show you the same dialog box as before but the drivers will be found.

sudo system-config-printer --debug

Pick the right driver and your printer is installed.
