Symptom
Some information about network address translation.
Cause
You want ot know what NAT (Network Address Translation) is.
Solution
N.A.T. (Network address translation) is used for hiding the IP addresses of multiple devices in a network from the outside internet. This way all devices in a network can access the internet with only a single connection (e.g. cable modem or DSL connection). Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) has only to assign you a single IP address with can either be static or dynamic.
