You want to change an alternative (/etc/alternatives/*) with a GUI
You can install galternatives. This can be done with the following command:
apt-get install galternatives
Galternatives is a graphical setup tool for the alternatives system. You can just start it from the commandline and choose the variables you want to change by just clicking after you delivered the root password which is needed for the change.
