LKB | Created: 02/04/2020 | Version: 0 | Language: EN | Rating: 0 | Outdated: False | Marked for deletion: False
Author: Wim Peeters - Keskon GmbH & Co. KG
Symptom
You need to know specific ELF binary information
Cause
none
Solution
To show extended information about ELF binaries under linux you can use a tool from the binutils called objdump. You cannot only use it on normal binaries but also on libraries.
e.g.
objdump -f getxml
getxml: Dateiformat elf32-i386
Architektur: i386, Flags 0x00000112:
EXEC_P, HAS_SYMS, D_PAGED
Startadresse 0x08049af0
With the option -x you can find out all the header information. (quite a lot)
Option -t shows the symbol tables.
