Solution
Lots of people do not know a little feature of cd (change directory). It will change to the home drive wenn no parameters are given. So to change to your home drive on linux in a bash session you simply type cd followed by <enter>.
This is the easies way to change to your homedirectory. To see where you are you can use pwd.
