Symptom
Excel Spreadsheet without row- and column headers ("A1", "B123",...) not displayed
Cause
configuration
Solution
If an Excel spreadsheet does not display row or column headers, it´s hard to select a whole row or column. Also it´s not easy to display hidden rows or columns...
To get back your row and column headings, go to extras --> options and look for window options on the general tab. Theres a checkbox for these headings (Excel 2003 and below)
For Excel 2007 you find this setting under:
Under Table Tools select Layout Tab and look for the Table group. There ought to be a checkmark for rows & columns, and make sure "view" is checked
