Base Score is the overall rating of your system, subscores describe the subsystems
The Base Score is NOT an average, but represents the lowest ranking Subsystem (with Aero, this is probably in most cases the graphics subsystem - alas there is no checkmark for "I´m not using Aero"...).
If you feel that your system might do better with some kind of upgrade, this is the place to look for first.
