LKBEN11516: Howto rename a windows computer with powershell


Symptom

You need to rename your system because the automatic naming of windows 10 is bad

Cause

Needed to make administation of systems easier

Solution

To rename a computer you can use the powersehll command "rename-computer".

Open Powershell as administrator and run the following command when you are logged on locally:

rename-computer -newname "testpc"

Have fun.
