LKBEN11456: How to resubmit a sitemap to google.

Symptom

You changed your sitemap of the website and need to tell google about the changes.

Cause

This is helpfull when you want your changes to appear faster on the internet.

Solution

In google search console you can add your sitemaps so google can index your website. When you have made changes to your sitemap and want google to reindex your URL's, you will not find a "resubmit" button.

You can delete and create a new sitemap with the same name but that is not the preferred way. Google has made it possible to resubmit sitemap changes with the following command:

https://www.google.com/ping?sitemap=URL_FOR_YOUR_SITEMAP

When everything worked fine, you will receive a message in the browser that everything worked fine. IN case of error you get a "Bad Request" Error 400.
