LKBEN11140: How to speed up the Launch of OpenOffice.org

Symptom

You need more speed. Who doesn't.

Cause

You want to improve the start up of OpenOffice.

Solution

Start OpenOffice and click on Tools > Options and choose Memory.

There you have to change the following settings:

Undo > Number of steps 30

Graphics-cache > Use for OpenOffice  128 MB
               > Memory per object 20 MB
               > Remove from memory after 00:10 hh:mm

Cache for inserted objects > Number of objects 20

Finally click on Java and uncheck the "Use a Java Runtime Environment" option.

After this is done click ok to save the changes and restart your OpenOffice. The startup should be much quicker now.
