LKBEN10928: You need the contents of a self extracting exe file

Symptom

You do not want to run it, you want the content.

Cause

This is by design.

Solution

One possiblitiy is the use of Total Commander. You navigate to the self extracting exe file and press Ctrl-. Now you can see the content and can select what you want to copy.
