LKBEN10715: Howto disable user account control (uac) using the windows control panel

Symptom

You do not change a user account and deactivate user account control for a specified user

Cause

UAC can nerve.

Solution

Windows Vista has a built-in feature to reduce the potential of attacs to the system. It does this by the User Account Control, also called UAC. This forces the users of the local administrator group to run programs as normal users with no administrative rights.

To disable this feature you can use the control panel. Open control panel, click on the user accounts and click on "Go to the main User Accounts page". Click on the "Change security settings". Here you can uncheck the checkbox "use user account control to help protect your computer". Now click OK.

You will be prompted to reboot so the changed can be applied.
