LWE10360 : Howto flush the dns cache for a local computer and on a dns server

Symptom:

You would like to flush the dns cache on your server and on the client

Cause:

none

Solution:


To flush the local client dns cache you use the ipconfig command. e.g.

ipconfig /flushdns

This will flush the local computers cache.

To clear the caching of the dns server you need to use the dnscmd command. e.g.

dnscmd /clearcache

This will clear the dns server cache.
