LKBEN10918: Howto flush the dns cache for a local computer and on a dns server


Symptom

You would like to flush the dns cache on your server and on the client

Cause

none

Solution


To flush the local client dns cache you use the ipconfig command. e.g.

ipconfig /flushdns

This will flush the local computers cache.

To clear the caching of the dns server you need to use the dnscmd command. e.g.

dnscmd /clearcache

This will clear the dns server cache.
