LWE10222 : Howto delete a single registry value with a reg file

Symptom:

You want to delete a certain value but the key should stay

Cause:

none

Solution:

This can be used to delete a registry hive

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}]

In this case you delete all the values the hive contains. To just delete on of the values you can use the following construct:

e.g.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader]
"EULA"=-

Please note the minus behind the comparison. If you cannot delete the registry key, you should have a look at your rights to delete the value. Under HKLM (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) you might need administrator rights.
