LKBEN10774: Howto get information about stored procedures in SQL Server


Symptom

You would like to see the code of a stored procedure in sql server

Cause

This is by design

Solution

The stored procedure sp_helptext will not only give you a view definition, but also functions, stored procedures, triggers, check constraints.

To find the information about e.g. sp_helptext you can use the following sql command:
 

exec sp_helptext 'sp_helptext'



You can now have a look the code of the stored procedure and have some inside information.
