LLE10169 : Methods for the encryption of wirless networks.




There are several methods to secure you wireless network connection.


- 64-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Protection). This was the first wireless encryption standard. It is outdated by now.

- 128-bit WEP. An updated, more secure version of the original WEP.

- WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). A newer more secure encryption standard. Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 supports the WPA standard.

- WPA2. The newest secure standard. WPA2 provides the highest level of encryption at present.
