LKBEN11075: Howto search for a "searchterm" on a website via a search engine


Symptom

You would like to search via a search engine (e.g. google) but the results should come from a defined website

Cause

none

Solution

You can go to your favorite search engine. (e.g. google) and type in your search term followed by site:www.site-to-look-in.com.

We can give the following examples:

debian site:www.lubby.org

This will search for all indexes of http://www.lubby.org which contain the searchterm debian.

The following will search for debian and installation in the indexes.

debian installation site:www.lubby.org
