LLE10106 : Howto list all installed packages with dpkg and with minimum information about it.

Symptom:

You want to look at a list of all installed packages on debian, ubuntu, kubuntu, knoppix, ...

Cause:

none

Solution:

The dpkg command can deliver information about all installed packages.

dpkg -l

(l = a lowercase L)

You can write it in a temporary file like this:

dpkg -l > /tmp/all-packages.txt
