LLE10100 : Howto change sources.list to install software from testing

You need to install software from the testing archive

You need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list so your distribution can find the software archives. This can be done by copying all the lines and changing stable (or etch) into testing.

The result might look like:

# deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 r4a _Etch_ - Official amd64 CD Binary-1 20080803-21:56]/ etch contrib main

deb etch main non-free contrib
#deb unstable main contrib non-free

deb-src etch main

deb etch/updates main contrib
deb-src etch/updates main contrib

#from here testing (Wim)
deb testing main non-free contrib
deb-src testing main
deb testing/updates main contrib
deb-src testing/updates main contrib
