LKBEN11161: Howto execute a newly created function in postgres

Symptom

You just created a new function and want to execute it but postgresql delivers an error <function name> does not exist

Cause

none

Solution

You probably used the execute command followed by your functionname to execute your function. This does not work. To execute a function you use the select command. e.g.

select my_functionname(myparameters);

This will do the job.
