LKBEN10608: Time service problems after changing the pdc emulator role to a different system

Symptom

The domain controller does not synchronise its time as ist should be

Cause

The domain controller was the pdc emulator and the role has been moved

Solution

After you transfer the role to a different system, you have to configure the old system so it will get its time from the domain hierarchy. You need to be administrator to make these changes. Type the following command in a command line:

w32tm /config /syncfromflags:domhier /reliable:no /update

The domhier stands for the domain hierarchy!

After the change you have to restart the service. You can do this with "net stop w32time" followed by "net start w32time".
Now everything should be ok again.
