Symptom

In PS 4.5 you receive an error message, when trying to read IMA - Information, while same thing worked in PS 4.0 and lower

Cause

New Delegation of Administration Tasks in Presentation Server 4.5

Solution

When using Keskon WUC ("Wim´s User Control") with a Citrix PS 4.5 farm, we received an error message stating an error with IMA. Same Tool for mirroring usersessions worked properly in earlier Citrix environments and worked properly with an full Administrator as well.

This is because Citrix changed the delegation model of the IMA-service. From Presentation Server 4.5 on, there are a lot more rights to configure, one of them allows view-only access to the farm properties.
When a helpdesk user with the (former) right to mirror sessions does not have this view-only right to the IMA-service, he will receive an error message as stated above.

To grant this permission, open the Access Suite Console and navigate to "Administrators" select "Properties" of the User or Group you would like to grant access.
Under Properties, select "Permissions" in the left pane.
Select the farm in the middle pane ("folders") --> you'll see "Farm Management" tasks in the right pane.

Make sure, there is a checkmark at "View Farm Management" and close the Properties window with <ok>.
