Symptom

There are a lot of registry keys shared for 32 and 64 bit programs. This is a list of them

Cause

This is by design

Solution

On windows 64-bit there must be keys in the registry which are shared. Here are keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE that are shared by

both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. These keys will not be reflected, and 32-bit registry calls will not be redirected.

Only one physical copy of the key is mapped into each logical view of the registry.

The following list identifies the shared keys:

- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\HCP
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais\Current
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais\Readers
