Symptom

You disabled the sound but the beep still nerves you

Cause

Configuration

Solution

The beep is not consided to be sound. It is a MessageBeep. (ASCII character 7) To disable the beeping of the system you can change the following registry keys:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Sound]
"Beep"="no"
"ExtendedSounds"="no"

You can copy and paste the information into a file and call it "diasable beep.reg" or you can just use regedit and change the values by hand. We tested it on Windows Server 2003 with Citrix Metaframe. It just works, you can make mistakes without going on somebodies nerves.
