LKBEN11017: Howto show network traffic on the command line


Symptom

You want to view network performance on the command line

Cause

none

Solution

To view the network performance without some X window system you can use the nload program. This program will show you network performance on the command line as text. Nload shows you the incoming and the outgoing traffic.

To install on a debian system you can use

apt-get install nload
