LKBEN10935: Howto query SQL Server from the commandline
Symptom
You need to make queries on an sql Server from the command line
Cause
This is usefull from time to time
Solution
You can use the sqlcmd command to connect and query the server. Most of the time it is easier to create a cmd file. e.g.:
set DB=testdb
sqlcmd -U %DB% -P passwrd -S testsrv.testfirm.com -Q "use %DB%;select * from dbo.Testtable"
This can be stored in a cmd file and it can be run on the command line.
