Explorer [/n] [/e] [(,)/root,] [/select,]

/n                         Opens a new single-pane window for the default selection.

/e                         Opens the Windows Explorer in its default view.

/root <object>    Opens a window view of the specified object.

/select<object> Opens a window view with the specified folder, file or application selected.

To change the startup folder just take the folloeing steps:

Click start -> programs -> accessoires

Right-click on Windows explorer and select properties.

Under target field is an entry like this "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe". Change this entry into this "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, <prefered folder>", for example "%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, /select, C:\Temp".
