LKBEN10655: Howto know the uptime of a windows server or workstation without the use of external tools


Symptom

You need to know the uptime of a server. Windows does not provide an uptime command

Cause

none

Solution

With a standard installation you can use the net command to get the uptime of the server.

net statistics server

The result will output some statistical information and on the top you will find "statistics since" date and time. You can also look in the eventlog and search for eventid 6005 or 6009 registred from the EventLog.
